In union with Gale South Beach’s two-year anniversary of their $35 million restoration and renovation efforts, the boutique property has opened a new wing of multi-million dollar accommodations for guests to enjoy called Gale Suites at Kaskades. Opening on December 1, 2014, the 25 suites were created by local designers Urban Robot Associates with an emphasis on offering modern conveniences while at the same time retaining the hotel’s historic past, originally designed by architect Melvin Grossman in 1953.

“With each new Menin Hospitality project we are aiming to offer our guests an unrivaled product, level of detail-oriented service and brand standard,” said Jared Galbut, managing principal of Menin Hospitality. “The unique strength behind Gale South Beach’s DNA created a need for additional rooms and levels of our guest experience. New and returning clientele can now customize their stay at the hotel and suites, whether it have a concentration on luxury accommodations, family-friendly amenities, business services or an entertainment-driven experience.”

Adding two levels to the wing, guests can take advantage of a 1,000-square-foot meeting space, a catering kitchen and a 3,400-square-foot rooftop terrace and pool overlooking the Frank Gehry-designed New World Symphony. Outdoors, the cast-in-place planters allow for lush greenery to cascade down the façade, adding a natural beauty to the building. Along with updated furnishings and décor, the new wing also utilizes modern technology such as iPad to check-ins. Beginning January 2015, suites can also be accessed through a Menin Hospitality application that will allow guests to enter their rooms through it.

While keeping the same style, color palette and sentiments of the main Gale South Beach property, the Kaskades have reinterpreted them a bit to have their own personal feel. Contemporary floor rugs, deep blue leather-paneled walls and warm grey hardwood flooring, and a Japanese soaking tub (on first floor rooms) complete the look of the suites.

In the guestrooms, the pièce de résistance is the spa-inspired, marble-clad bathrooms with rain showers that double as an aromatherapy steam rooms. And for those of you who prefer not to touch toilets, the new hands-free Toto washlet toilets automatically open their lid upon entering the bathroom (say goodbye to germs!). In-room accessories are courtesy of Italian icon Alessi.

Guests of Kaskades will also receive two reserved beach chairs at Shelborne Beach Club, access to Gale South Beach’s fitness center and the dining and entertainment options at the main hotel. Rates at Gale Suites at Kaskades begin at $499.
