The Michelin-starred Sketch in London is a triple threat. It has food and tea time, is a destination hot-spot, and acts as a cultural mainstay for art lovers. Started by French chef Pierre Gagnaire and restaurateur Mourad Mazouz, Sketch spans two floors of an 18th-century historic townhouse on Conduit Street, Mayfair and has been one of the city's coolest spots since it opened back in 2002—though it's recently been renovated.

With a New French menu, the food is modeled after the cuisine Gagnaire offers in his three-Michelin-starred establishment in Paris. Across its two levels are five different restaurants and bars (the Lecture, the Room & Library, the Gallery, the Glade, the Parlour, and the East Bar), each offering a unique aesthetic and artistic influence.

For instance, the Gallery room is a kitschy-pink restaurant with artwork lining the walls, and was designed by British artist David Shrigley and designer India Mahdavi. Let's just say Elvis would have loved this room.

The Glade looks like the woodland set of A Midsummer Night's Dream production, which makes Sketch a must-visit on any visitor's London list. Sketch is open seven days a week, but each space has different hours, so check with the restaurant for reservations.
