From Sushi to Champagne: Los Cabos' Dining Scene Steps Up its Gourmet Food Game

The sunny beach resort towns of Los Cabos, Mexico are known for a single culinary specialty: the Baja-style taco. But as much as we love Taco Tuesday, even the best tortilla dishes can get tiresome seven days a week, so the resort area’s top restauranteurs are stepping up their game with creative menu and gourmet dining twists fit for foodies.

International Dining at The Golden Zone — Hacienda Encantada Resort & Spa

Eventually, every tourist in Los Cabos craves something besides tacos and fresh-from-the-sea Mexican food. And once in a while it’s nice to get out of your luxury resort to see what downtown Cabo San Lucas has to offer. Mexico Grand Hotels came up with a smart solution with their “Dine Out All-Inclusive Plan” that encourages guests to experience fine dining on site at four hotel restaurants, as well as the five of the best restaurants along the Marina boardwalk in the Golden Zone.

Unlike traditional all-inclusive resorts, the “Dine Out” concept includes five of the best restaurants in the heart of the Marina Golden Zone. Hotel guests can explore the entertaining downtown area and dine on Italian, Japanese, French, American, or Mexican cuisine. At Presto, Chef Roberto Macciadri features classic Italian fare in a modern bistro atmosphere. At Baja Lobster Co., guests can opt for lobster, steaks, and the catch of the day while seated on the cantilevered deck-bar, watching fishing boats and yachts come and go. Imomo is simply the best sushi bar in a town known for its great fish. And for a bit of everything, Jack’s Bar & Grill serves up an eclectic menu from Europe, the US and Mexico.

The diamond of Mexico Grand Hotels, Hacienta Encantada is perched on the cliffs of Millionaire’s Row, above the Sea of Cortez. With stunning ocean and city lights view, it features several restaurants including Los Riscos, specializing in mesquite grill on a romantic sea-side terrace; La Trajinera, for contemporary Mexican cuisine; and the El Eden Tequila & Taco bar. Adding to the hotel dining options is Hacienda Encantada’s sister hotel, the Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa, which has on-site La Palapa for alfresco dining overlooking the Cabo San Lucas marina.
