Photos Credit: Dom Perignon

In September, renowned chef Alain Ducasse's Ore restaurant within the Palace of Versailles opened featuring a French-inspired menu. Recently, the Michelin-starred chef announced his partnership with Dom Pérignon to create intimate events for Champagne lovers at the new restaurant. Beginning in 2017, diners will have the chance to enjoy the Second Plénitude of the 1998 vintage alongside a 10-course meal.

Everything from the table settings to the cutlery and hand-crafted Venetian-style glassware will be carefully chosen to create an over-the-top luxury experience. Even the wait staff will be donning purple frock coats and periwigs, mimicking 18th century royal dinners. Ducasse and Dom’s chef du cave Richard Geoffroy will focus on intensity, minerality and precision on their menu, the three facets of wine.

Drawing inspiration from Louis XIV (who built Versailles), the dinner will pay homage to the Sun King through its sequence of dishes and ingredients used. Guests can expect items such as caviar, frogs’ legs croquettes, vol-au-vents, foie gras and spelt risotto with white Alba truffle shavings. The Dom Pérignon experience is available at Ore for private hire for two to 30 guests and begins at $385 a person. Reservations can be made at +33 1 30 84 12 96 or Evenement@ducasse-chateauversailles.com.
