A London Hotel Specifically for Gin Lovers

Nowadays, you can find a hotel to suit any type of traveler. There are spa resorts, foodie locales, music hotels, fitness retreats and clothing-optional accommodations. And now, even gin lovers will have a place to call their own come December 16. The Distillery, located on Portobello Road, will open as a three-room property dedicated to celebrating the spirit.

Overlooking Notting Hill’s Portobello Market, the hotel is housed inside a former pub and is spread out across four floors. The property is the brainchild of Ged Feltham, founder of Portobello Road Gin. Guestrooms will be on the top (third) floor, while the second level will be home to a private dining room called the Boardroom. GinTonica bar and restaurant will sit on the first floor and here, diners can sip on G&T’s served in the classic bowl-shaped gin glass. This level also boasts the off-license shop, gin museum and the Ginstitute which allows guests to learn more about the spirit and create their own batches.

On the ground level, visitors will find a resting room featuring suspended gin barrels hanging above the bar. Guests will be able to enjoy a selection of international spirits that were once aged in the hand-built barrels attached to the ceiling. Accommodations start at around USD $156 a night and include, of course, a curated gin-packed mini bar.
