For the discerning traveler who prefers a more intimate and customized experience, a luxury, boutique hotel is the way to go. Vying for a clientele with an unlimited budget, boutique hotels attract savvy guests by focusing on style, design, lighting, technology, music and personalized experiences. What began as a niche market in the 1980s, the boutique concept is now a global phenomenon that appeals to Millennials and Empty-Nesters alike. According to a recent boutique and lifestyle report conducted by Hotel Analyst, a growth in demand for boutique rooms is expected to exceed that of traditional hotel rooms by the end of 2017.

Traditionally, boutique hotels are found in hip cities such as Miami, New York, London and Paris. On our last trip to Paris we discovered Le Cinq Codet, one of the chicest boutique hotels in the city. Located in the 7th arrondissement, the property sits near the Eiffel Tower as well as Les Invalides, Musée d'Orsay and Musée Rodin. Housed in the former France Telcom building from the 1930s, Le Cinq Codet is more than your average boutique property, it is a total experience unto itself with features such as a made-to-measure breakfast that is served around a table d'hote in which the chef interacts with guests in the show kitchen. The hotel also boasts a steam room, an outdoor Jacuzzi on the spa’s terrace and artistic, loft-style décor created by acclaimed designer Jean-Phillipe Nuel.

The total vibe of the hotel is perfectly suited for creative types who thrive in the open spaces, modern art deco vibes, light wood tones and the abundance of natural light. Some of the hotel's 67 rooms showcase floor-to-ceiling bay windows that are perfect for setting the tone for creativity. We stayed in one of the Duplex Rooms which feature high ceilings, tons of natural light and a sexy tub in the bedroom. The rooms also have a separate bathroom with a walk-in shower for those who need a little more privacy.

If you really want to go big, book one of the Superior Suites that are located on the top floor and offer spectacular views of Paris from your private terrace with a Jacuzzi or the enormous Dome Suite which has a Parisian-styled garden, contemporary lounge area and an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower from the private terrace.

Though it was extremely tempting not to leave the hotel room, be sure to venture down to the communal areas for a cocktail at the lounge bar which features a digital fireplace. The dining room, lounge bar and patio seamlessly blend together, further enhancing the loft style of the hotel. If you are looking for an urban oasis to reflect and decompress in a chic yet understated environment, Le Cinq Codet is a great Parisian option.
