Paris Things To Do: The Cirque d'Hiver— or Winter Circus— opened in 1852 as a venue for traveling circus acts and orchestral performances. Over the years, the venue has also been a backdrop for films, photo shoots, and luxury fashion shows.

Today, the massive stadium still features classic circus shows replete with magicians, trapeze artists, purple tigers and more. The shows change from season-to-season, but much of the building is maintained to appear just as it did in the mid-1800s.
