Luxury Resorts: Guests of Blackberry Farm
experience a most rewarding respite from the madness
that can accompany a life of success. It is the
relaxed side of the reality whether guests choose to
be active or passive, as both are rewarding and
replenishing. It is an escape from the complexities.
Food and wine are the farm's top priorities.
Epicureans of all levels are welcomed, as this is
truly a painless learning experience filled with
tasteful adventures to savor and swirl over the
palate. Award-winning executive chef John Fleer and
his staff meticulously present menus for breakfast,
brunch, lunch and dinner, with many of the essentials
coming directly from the Blackberry's own cheese,
eggs, honey, vegetables, and fruit.
Horseback riding and hiking are available through the
scenic trails of the farmlands. There are daily
two-hour trail rides, half-day backcountry trail
rides, and full-day horse clinics. There are two ponds
and a stream that provide freshwater fly-fishing. The
nearby Great Smoky Mountain National Park and the
Clinch River have more than 700 miles of trout
streams. The Orvis-endorsed Staff guides and
counselors are available to teach guest the finer
points, such as casting techniques, essential knots,
stream entomology, proper fly selection, how to play,
land, and safely release fish, and much more.
Accommodations include estate rooms, cottage suites
and houses. Renowned publications such as Bon Appetit,
Southern Living, Zagat Travel Guide, Food & Wine
magazine, Condé Nast Traveler, and USA Today are just
a few of the renowned publications that have either
praised or presented awards of excellence to the
Blackberry Farm.
