The Palm Restaurant Downtown San Diego opened December 7, 2005 and is the newest edition to The Palm Family. The Palm San Diego is located at 615 J St., the southeast corner of Sixth Avenue and J Street at the heart of Downtown San Diego's vibrant Ballpark and Entertainment District and steps away from the famed Gaslamp Quarter National Historic District.
The Palm is famous for USDA prime-aged steaks, jumbo Nova Scotia lobsters, authentic Italian fare, generous portions and the smiles, service and atmosphere you get no where else. For almost 80 years The Palm has been renowned for their A-list guests, high quality ingredients, saloon-like atmosphere and the trademark walls covered with the classic cartoons and the light hearted caricature portraits of national celebrity regulars and the local elite of business, sports, society and politics.
Jessica619 found this to be an Exceptional experience.
I have always loved the Palms in New York and LA so when they opened one here in San Diego, I was thrilled! It is the perfect place to grab a drink before a Padres game as it is literally just a stone's throw away from Petco Park. Although there is no surf and turf on the menu, your server will be happy to put together any combination of steak and lobster. Their Nova Scotia lobsters are gigantic, usually ranging from 3-6lbs. I recommend ordering everything "family style" because the portions are huge and that way you can try a little of everything!
