After 29 sailings, Mariner of the Seas has completed its first season in Singapore. Its inaugural trip began in November as part of the winter/spring cruise season. The vessel is part of Royal Caribbean's Voyager Class which consists of ships with signature innovations like a rock climbing wall, mini golf course, and the first-ever ice skating rink at sea.
In its first season, the boat offered a variety of three-, four-, and five-night cruises to Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang), Langkawi, Penang, and Phuket, and one seven-night cruise with overnight stays in Bangkok (Laem Chabang) and Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My).
With many voyages over the holiday season, the ocean liner hosted special themed and festive events, which included entertainment and dining related to each special celebration. Besides its first season in Singapore, the vessel can also celebrate being the first ship to take off from Hong Kong’s new Kai Tak cruise terminal.
Looking ahead, the Mariner of the Seas will change up its itineraries for the second season including adding a few more seven-night cruises. The luxury liner will be adding Kuantan as a port of call on top of Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, and Phuket for its three- to five-night voyages. It will also add two Seven-Night Spice of Southeast Asia cruises to its line up with stops in Kaula Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi and Phuket (overnight) scheduled for January 2015.
The ship also has a Seven-Night Thailand and Vietnam cruise planned for February with a stop in Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My) and an overnight stay in Bangkok (Laem Chabang). Mariner of the Seas will begin its jam-packed second season when it returns from Shanghai to Singapore in the fall.
