Kinan [pronounced - keynan] is the Maya word for "the energy of the sun." Similar to the Asian concept of Chi, Kinan is also used to refer to individual energy. Here at Maroma Resort, our mission is to help you unlock your inner energy and spirit.

Kinan is a healing sanctuary that offers a full range of services in unique environments ranging from couple's treatment suites to open-air massage palapas; and from a roof top yoga palapa, with 360-degree views of Maroma's duel ecosystems, to a jantzu pool surrounded by Zen-like gardens.

Many of the treatments offered at Kinan are based on ancient Mayan healing. Some of the services will not be found anywhere else in the world. The Kinan Ritual was taught to us by a local shaman; and the Hot Poultice Massage is one of the oldest Mayan medicines. All of the products we use for treatments are 100% natural with many harvested from the jungle each morning.
