Located in the village of Skaneateles (that's pronounced skinny-AT-liss) in central New York State's Finger Lakes Wine Country, Mirbeau is a mere 20 miles southwest of Syracuse and set on 12 acres of forested parkland. With the Skaneateles lake a few minutes away, guests will be surrounded by the Inn's manicured ponds and gardens, while enjoying their relaxing resort getaway.
With 34 rooms, Mirbeau prides itself on being an intimate retreat with a French country style. With gardens reflecting a Monet influence, guests can relax amidst the rolling hills, spruce forests, and clear lakes. Not to mention the some 100 wineries in the area.
18 of the guest rooms are located on two residential floors of the massive 14,000 square foot luxury spa, with the rest of the rooms divvied up between four separate cottages. The four cottages surround one side of the garden and pond area and are actually terraced into the hillside. Each room has a fireplace and large bathrooms that feature walk-in showers, claw-foot soaking tubs, and double sinks. Choose a first-floor room and enjoy your very own private patio that looks out onto the gardens and koi pond.
The French Steakhouse offers guests a farm-to-table menu designed in a French Country style, featuring in-house dry-aged beef, fresh seafood that's flown in daily, comfort food and house-made breads and desserts. With the many surrounding wineries, an extensive and varied wine list is made available to guests. In conjunction with the Spa, the restaurant also has a section of the menu filled with delicious health-conscious dishes.
Speaking of the Spa, it's certainly the focus of Mirbeau and was designed to provide guests with tranquility and peace of mind while on their luxury vacation. With 18 treatment rooms, most of them with fireplaces and private sound systems, the resort Spa has a fleshed out program that includes various types of massage, body wraps, and facial treatments. The Spa also has many activities, including the Barefoot Power class that uses cardio and hand weights, and the Hooping class, which teaches guests the basics of hoop dancing.
Aside from the Spa activities, there are also Resort activities and specials every day, like the Member's Drink Night on Tuesday's where guests can enjoy complimentary cocktails, wine, and beer. Three times a week guests can enjoy a scheduled Koi fish feeding on the Monet bridge and every Saturday night there's a Late Night Happy Hour that provides drinks and snacks until 11 p.m.
Daily rates range from $289 to $450, depending on the date and which room you choose to stay in.
