Private Hayman Island by InterContinental Reopens

Hayman Island by InterContinental

In the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, located in one of only four of Australia’s Whitsunday Islands, the InterContinental Hayman Island Resort recently reopened it’s doors to guests, after a cyclone damaged the island two years ago. DBI Designs, DAARC and KY Design refreshed and rebuilt the 166-guest rooms, and added five distinct restaurants and bars. Every area of the resort offers stunning ocean, tropical lagoon and swimming pool views. It is one of the world’s most luxurious and discreetly private resorts.

There are three ways to arrive to The Hayman located on the Coral Sea. Guests can take a 15 minute helicopter or seaplane ride, or opt for a one-hour luxury boat ride departing from Hamilton Island. Passengers on the yacht receive flutes of sparkling and light canapes, while being checked in before arrival. Once the boat docks, travelers are escorted to their guest room, suite or villa located in one of three wings located at the beach, lagoon or pool.

There are multiple categories of rooms and suites, with one of the most stunning the three bedroom Hayman Beach House. It's ideal for families and larger travel groups. Located right on a private beach, this suite offers a wrap-around balcony offering panoramic views of Hayman Island and the Whitsundays. There is also a gallery kitchen, large open living and dining room, and each of the three rooms have their own plunge pool and lounge chairs.

The resort offers a Planet Trekkers Kids Club for little ones to experience an immersive cultural program, while parents take out a standup paddle board, snorkel in the clear water, go for a swim, or enjoy a spa experience in one of the 11 treatment rooms, plus visit the Spa Oasis plunge pool and sauna.

Day trips for couples include a romantic flight over the world’s famous heart shaped reef, swim with sea turtles, hike in beautiful rainforests or cruise along the turquoise waters of Whitehaven Beach.

Book a stay before September 30, 2019 and receive 25% off a luxury three-night stay and a gourmet breakfast for two in the waterfront Pacific restaurant. Go to https://haymanisland.intercontinental.com/specialoffers/opening-special/.
