Caribbean Escapes: Turks & Caicos Islands
Destinations: Traveling to the Caribbean's Turks & Caicos Islands is indeed a special event. The tropical escape is a favorite hotspot of jetsetters and VIP travelers. The T&C Islands are a wonderful respite for replenishing and rejuvenating. The eight inhabited islands of the Turks and Caicos Islands are located 575 miles southeast of Miami and take up 193 square miles of prime Atlantic property. Aside from plenty of savory fresh seafood entrees, T&C visitors also have myriad water-related recreational activities ranging from scuba diving to dolphin and whale watching to sport-fishing trips to chartering a yacht. The islands possess the third largest coral reef system in the world, making the beaches equally attractive to both active and passive vacationers.
Take the "entourage" to the Turks & Caicos Islands Film Festival!
Fall 2007 marks the third running of the Turks & Caicos Islands Film Festival. It runs from October 16-21, 2007. There will be screenings, concerts, and special events daily from the island of Providenciales. Workshops and meet-and-greet sessions also will occur throughout the festivities. The films screened at the festival are musically charged affairs "that celebrate the fusion of cinema and music." New and classical films are shown. The Turks and Caicos Islands' government leaders, Premier Michael Misick and First Lady LisaRaye McCoy Misick, greet visitors to the film festival's Web site.
Caribbean Escapes is an official sponsor of the event. Four resorts in the area recommended by Caribbean Escapes are the Grace Bay Club, the Meridian Club, and Point Grace.
