This eco-friendly step was supported by the Mayor and is a proud accomplishment for the Austrian city. The ultimate goal is to have all Vienna metropolitan bus routes converted to electric buses by 2013.
The first electric bus has gone into service on the roads of Vienna. Up to twelve of the new-generation microbuses are to be employed for bus lines 2A and 3A by 2013.
