India Blooms

A deep seeded cultural event stemming from the Indian community of Singapore and known as the Festival of Lights began October 12th. This event will provide a unique opportunity for citizens of Singapore to familiarize them with this old tradition. The streets of Singapore will soon be lit with vibrant oil lamps and ornamented with carefully crafted decorations. It is a truly unique experience for those unfamiliar with the practice.

Indian community in Singapore will celebrate Diwali with a magnificent street-light up surrounded by cultural performances, a heritage exhibition, symbolic processions, as well as a food and drink festival.

During this period, the Indian community in Singapore, including expatriates, migrants and visitors, will come together to celebrate Deepavali (Diwali), also known as the Festival of Lights.

Deepavali is a time for rejoicing and renewal as Hindus all over the world celebrate the triumph of good over evil or light over darkness.
