Travelers to Texas in the Austin area must be sure to check out Texas Monthly's top picks for 'Where to Stay Now 2012' including two Austin hotels, the Hotel Saint Cecilia and the Travaasa Austin. Each hotel offers a unique experience, one an urban hideaway and the other a relaxing spa respectively.

Texas Monthly magazine has named two Austin hotels to its "Where to Stay Now 2012" list of the best new or improved hotels across the state.

Hotel Saint Cecilia ranked among the magazine’s “10 Best New (or Improved!) Texas Hotels,” as did Travaasa Austin.

The list was compiled by Texas Monthly Associate Editor Jordan Breal. This is the first time in eight years that Texas Monthly has published the list.

"I drafted a list of 44 hotels that have opened or undergone significant renovations since 2004," Breal wrote. "After winnowing those down to two dozen, I booked rooms anonymously to determine my 10 favorites."
