Florida Keys Free Classical Concert

Posted: Nov. 23rd, 2012  |  By Michael Pearse

There was a free concert this last Sunday evening at which The Alhambra Orchestra performed their first classical concert of the season in the Florida Keys. No Reservations were needed, admissions and parking were free, donations appreciated. It is nice to see fine arts opening up to draw in more people who do not have the budget to try out such things previously.

The program opens with Debussy’s “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun,” and concludes with the monumental Seventh Symphony of Beethoven.

In a double role, Dr. Andai as soloist also joins three young artists from MISO’s Special Development Program, which he founded — Erin David, David Fernandez, , and Liuba Ohrimenko– to perform Vivaldi’s lively Concerto for Four Violins with the Alhambra Orchestra’s string section.

Free admission, free parking   (donations requested).  No reservations needed except that large groups should call in advance.
