For those that have come across some of my work concerning Cancun, it should come to no surprise that I am absolutely in love with the Mexican getaway location. No matter how much fun I've had on trips there, I'm always surprised to see that there is actually more stuff to do there than what I did myself and it makes me exponentially more excited thinking about a return trip. There’s no way I’m going to miss the chance go snorkelling over a Caribbean reef to watch green turtles at play. Even though I’m not a strong swimmer and have never actually been snorkelling. This is Mexico, I tell myself, the sea will be blissfully calm so if I don’t go out too far I’ll be fine...

But I’m not. Even before we start. While all around me are sauntering down the beach swinging their masks, I need help. My flippers don’t seem designed for a human foot, I’ve fastened my lifejacket wrongly and find my mask doesn’t cover my nose.
