The time seems right and Comair is joining hundreds of expanding airline companies with its acquisition of a daily Johannesburg-Maputo route set to launch in May of next year. Officials at the airline expect the move will see a rapid boost in business travel, siting Mozambique as a major world-class tourist destination.

BA franchisee and Oneworld affiliate member Comair is to launch a new service between Johannesburg and the Mozambique capital of Maputo.

The daily service (double daily on Tuesday and Saturday) will launch in May, and has been designed to offer connections for BA passengers connecting through Johannesburg and on to Maputo.

Flights are now sale through the BA Contact Centre and through travel agents, and will “shortly” be available through ba.com, as well as the website for Comair’s low-cost subsidiary Kulula.
