Shark Attack Leaves Sydney Beaches Closed Off

Posted: Jan. 2nd, 2013  |  By Michael Pearse
Big Pond News

Sydney beaches remained closed as shark roams the waters off the coast of Dee Why beach and has left a wonderful bite mark on a lifeguard's board. The board should make for a good souvenir as the lifeguard made it to shore unharmed.

A shark continues to roam a Sydney beach after a lifeguard had a 30cm chunk taken out of his surfboard.

Dee Why and Long Reef beaches in Sydney's north remain closed after off-duty Warringah Council lifeguard Danny Sheather was knocked off his board.

He was surfing about 100m from the south end of Dee Why beach around 11.50am (AEDT) this morning when the the shark shouldered him off his board.
