Singer, Songwriter and record producer Brett James of Nashville has paid $2.6 million for a downtown building that very well may become a new restaurant and venue which is certainly more interesting than the office space the building had previously been used for. The buildings location is prime for an eatery.

Nashville singer, songwriter and record producer Brett James has paid $2.6 million for a downtown Nashville building with plans for a restaurant and entertainment venue.

James, who has co-written several chart-topping hits including Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and “Cowboy Casanova,” is the latest investor seeking to capitalize on the planned opening of the Music City Center convention hall and adjacent Omni hotel south of Broadway.

“The timing was right,” said Gary Everton, principal of EOA Architects, the firm that designed downtown’s MTA transit station and is now searching for new office space in the wake of the sale.
