Ireland and Dublin make huge leaps to get involved in the sprouting cloud economy that could very well reward them for their investments. A sizable cyber security team has been hired to protect the cloud from hackers and malware and make it possible to do business with a sense of safety.

The year 2012 was a year of advancement for cloud computing on so many levels. As well as companies like Google and Microsoft revealing new cloud-based services, it was a year that saw many key building blocks being laid by the Irish State to ensure the country flourished in the growing cloud economy.

January - major cloud security experts gather in Cork

Trend Micro’s major operation in Cork played host to some 350 cyber security experts from around the world. The Cork operation is in the fighting front line against hackers and uses the internet cloud to defend organizations against cyber attacks.
