Time will tell if the mayor's comment will cause outrage, or merely cast doubt on the Ombudsman's efforts.
Basic rights ombudsman Máté Szabó has started an official inquiry into the way City Hall and the Budapest Transport Centre BKK handled the relatively heavy snowfall in Budapest on January 14. His office said traffic and public transport practically came to a standstill.
The office is conducting the inquiry in a fast-track procedure and expects to complete it in the near future.
