When faced with charges of potentially criminal negligence in the Budapest Transport Centre BKK during a considerably heavy snowfall earlier in the year, Budapest Mayor István Tarló replied with a scathingly insulting charge against the Basic Rights Ombudsman Máté Szabó. Basic rights ombudsman Máté Szabó has started an official inquiry into the way City Hall and the Budapest Transport Centre BKK handled the relatively heavy snowfall in Budapest on January 14. His office said traffic and public transport practically came to a standstill.
