Ballet World Record to Be Broken

Monica Loughman, Ireland's best-known dancer, is trying to break the world record of the biggest number of ballerinas on pointe at one time. The current record is 250 dancers on pointe; this record was set in New York just last year. This Dublin event will also help kick of Loughman’s ballet academy.

Ireland's best-known ballet dancer is attempting to break a world record in Dublin today.
Monica Loughman is gathering hundreds of dancers in the capital's Convention Centre who are eager to reach the biggest number of ballerinas 'on pointe' at the same time.
The attempt also marks the launch of Monica's new full-time ballet academy.
The current record stands at 250, which was set in New York last year.
