Australia Day 2013

Australia Day 2013 in Sydney was nothing short of a party as the citizens of Sydney went all out. Everything from picnics and beach parties to a simple backyard barbeque went on. The sun took no break either with it being a nice 28 degrees Celsius.  Partygoers continued on through the entire day celebrating their national holiday.

Sydney had its holiday gear on, packed the esky with cold drinks and snags, and headed to parks, beaches and backyard barbies to celebrate Australia Day yesterday.

Decked out in everything from Aussie flag T-shirts to teeny-weeny bikinis - topped off with The Sunday Telegraph truckers cap - revellers began flooding in to the city from early morning.

After party: Keep things rolling with our ultimate Aussie playlist

Undeterred by the 28C heat nor the threat of afternoon thunderstorms, families and friends staked their claims to the best picnic spots, make-do cricket pitches or patches of sand around the city.
