Valentine’s Day just behind us, romance is still in the air and there is nothing better to do then to snuggle up with that special someone and enjoy a nice cup of hot cocoa.  Weather conditions are right, as it has been very chilly out. Here are some of the best recipes for hot Cocoa from Dallas chefs.

Back in the day, hot chocolate or hot cocoa meant Hershey’s cocoa powder, sugar and hot milk.

Today, we distinguish hot cocoa from hot chocolate and even call the latter drinking chocolate to distinguish it from eating chocolate. However you stir it up, hot chocolate or hot cocoa is the perfect, snuggly beverage for your valentine, guaranteed to warm, soothe and conquer.

“A European-style drinking chocolate starts out with solid chocolate,” says Stephen Smith, owner-chocolatier at Dallas-based Nib Chocolates. Yes, it’s just melted and diluted with milk or half-and-half.
