Trend spotting during fashion week

Fashion week has always been fun for only those who consider them self’s fashionistas. This year's fashion week in Montreal was a bit different as the show became fun for anyone who had even the slightest sense of fashion. Most people who where there were on the look out for the 2013-2014 fall lineup. 

MONTREAL — Montreal Fashion Week has turned into a fun and vibrant affair, where fashionistas rejoice in the opportunity to don their favourite frock while checking out Montreal’s latest designs. All eyes are on the fall-winter 2013-2014 collections, exhibitions and other special events, drawing buyers, designers, bloggers and students.

The week started Monday with a VIP cocktail, with a thick line at the entrance of the Arsenal in Griffintown. The looks were relatively tame compared to what emerged later, when Montreal’s avant-garde floated in wearing curiously textured smocks and leggings (pleather? rubber?) with their hair wrapped into peak high Samurai-style buns — and those were the men.
