Tokyo will have a new flight destination with a whole new batch of anxious tourists. Delta Airline has recently announced that they will be hosting flights from Seattle, USA to Tokyo, Japan. Delta will use the Boeing 767-300ER on this route.

Delta Air Lines will launch its nonstop route between Seattle and Tokyo Haneda on June 1.

The carrier made the announcement Tuesday (Feb. 5) after receiving final approval to fly the route from the U.S. Department of Transportation. Delta will fly Boeing 767-300ER aircraft on the route.

U.S.-Japan aviation agreements cap the number of flights between the two nations. The Haneda flights became available after Delta asked to shift its previous rights from its suspended Detroit-to-Haneda route..

The DOT instead required the rights to be put back out to bid, with Delta ultimately winning over bids that initially were submitted by Hawaiian (for flights from Kona), American (Los Angeles) and United (San Francisco).
