Are you out of coins or cash for that matter? Well no need to worry because Abu Dhabi's parking meters now accept cash. And its not only couple of meters that do this but 2,000 of them are now doing this phenomenon. All you have to do is park, swipe, and choose the amount of time you will stay.

Motorists can now use their credit cards at more than 2,000 Mawaqif parking meters to pay for their tickets, according to the Department of Transport.

Visa and MasterCards can be inserted into the machines, and motorists can choose the tariff time.

The new credit card facility is one of the payment methods introduced by Mawaqif, which already includes prepaid cards, payment through SMS and coins.

Paid-parking hours are from 8am to midnight, except on Fridays and holidays.
