December in Dubai is set to be an exciting month filled with an absolute treasure trove of events, but chief among them is the back to back Cinematic Innovation Summit and 10th Dubai International Film Festival. December is unquestioningly the time for travel to the gem of the Arabic peninsula to shine.

The inaugural Cinematic Innovation Summit (5-6 Dec 2013) will be held in conjunction with the 10th Dubai International Film Festival (6-14 Dec 2013) at year-end. It is planned as an annual event in the UAE city-state.

Co-organised by the Seattle-based Center for New Cinema and France's naseba, the summit focuses on technical innovation in media in the form of "dynamic mix of symposium, film festival and interactive space for cutting-edge works".

Confirmed speakers include Alvy Ray Smith, the co-founder of Pixar, and David LINDE, founder of film financing and production company Lava Bear Films. Other speakers will be drawn from Hollywood, Silicon Valley and academia.
