Sex Actually A frank conversation about sex isn't something you'd normally expect in Africa, but Johannesburg is providing just that and more with The Sex Actually Festival, a five day event starting on August 20th meant to bring a much needed and totally open forum for conversations about sex, STDs and HIV, sexual violence and more.
The Sex Actually Festival is to take place in Johannesburg from Tuesday, 20 to Saturday, 24 August. If one has something to say, perform, screen, play or facilitate at the festival; if one wants to contribute to how we engage as a society around the themes of sex, HIV and AIDS, sexuality and relationships; if one has a story which needs to be told then make sure one applies.
The focus for 2013 is within the context of gender-based violence, masculinities, culture and sex. The target audiences are youths from schools and their parents, university and college students, and communities.
