Luxury Villas That Cost Over $20,000 a Week

How much would you be willing to spend on a weeklong stay in a luxury villa? Keep in mind these properties are expansive (up to 12,000 square feet), completely private, fully staffed, located in top travel destinations around the world, and filled with the latest technology and comforts of home that you could expect from any five-star hotel.

Would you drop $5,000, $10,000 or maybe even $15,000 for seven days of bliss and bonding with your family and friends? Those amounts will certainly get you a fabulous villa rental, but the ones we’ve rounded up hold price tags of at least $20,000—so make a call to your financial advisor if you want to hang your hat in any of these lavish lairs.

NINETEEN SEVENTY


Lake Tahoe is a popular year round vacation hotspot, offering a plethora of water sports in the summer and snow activities in the winter. If you need an extravagant estate to fit your large group for a week, NINETEEN SEVENTY has more than enough space. Set on one and a half acres on the west shore, this 12,000-square-foot home has nine bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a theater, 2,500 bottle wine cellar, gym, library, game room and 1,200-square-foot guest house among many more fabulous and fun amenities. If you’re willing to spend a little more money, you can hop on a classic wooden powerboat and go on a sightseeing tour or cocktail cruise around the lake to meet the neighbors. Villa Contenta


If you’re into a sexy South Beach getaway, Villa Contenta has you covered, with everything from the beach to tennis to golf, shopping and nightlife just minutes away. On the 11,000-square-foot property you can find six bedrooms, including two in the guest house, and amenities such as a private dock, floating deck, 130-foot heated pool with Jacuzzi, grotto with waterfall, beach volleyball court, gym and dining terrace. The property is managed by Villazzo VillaHotels, which turns luxury villas into exclusively private hotels. This means a full-time butler and concierge service, housekeeping, maintenance, body guards, catering, chauffeured limos, spa treatments and bathrooms stocked with Bulgari products and beds complete with Frette linens. Villa Cielito


For some fun in the sun Mexico-style, check out Villa Cielito in Los Cabos. The 8,000-square-foot beachfront estate on Chileno Bay boasts seven bedrooms, seven and a half baths, infinity pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, spacious outdoor living areas, private access to the beach, outdoor shower, four kayaks and a full-time staff including 24-hour security, maids, caretakers, a gardener and pool man. Just a 15-minute drive will bring you to Cabo San Lucas' vibrant nightlife; a 20-minute drive allows you to explore the attractions of historic San José del Cabo; or choose instead to cruise around the bay in your own private fishing charter. Villa Oliviero


Perched in the cliffs at the highest point in the town of Positano on the Amalfi Coast in Southern Italy is Villa Oliviero. This six-bedroom home has space for you and 11 of your closest friends or extended family members. The property features a pool, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, pizza oven, wine cellar and a large private sea view terrace for dining or relaxing. To make your Italian excursion even more memorable, arrange for a personal chef, wine tasting, massage, cooking lesson, or luxury yacht charter. While the furnishings are fittingly rustic and cozy, modern amenities can be found throughout including satellite TV, Wi-Fi and a DVD player with a full collection of movies and music on hand. Keep in mind, because of the elevation, the villa can only be accessed on foot through an alley-way, but baggage-carrying services are available to make the trek a little easier. Bajacu


The romantic hilltop villa Bajacu on the island of Providenciales, Turks and Caicos offers 270-degree views of the sea and is surrounded by 13 acres of tropical gardens filled with fruit trees and fragrant flowers. World famous Mexican architect Marco Aldaco designed the five bedroom, six bath 13,500-square-foot property that includes 3,500 square feet of open deck space. The interior is decorated in antiques from China, Indonesia and Africa as well as eclectic artwork, and also features two infinity pools, a plunge pool, a volcanic stone fountain, an expansive palapa, and many private areas throughout to unwind in total peace. A path connects the villa to the sea below providing an intimate spot to watch the sunset and enjoy a cocktail with your feet in the sand. Depending on how many are in your travel party and the time of year you head to the Turks and Caicos Islands, rates can range anywhere from $21,000 to $33,000 for a 7-day stay.
