THREE

If we booked this home, you could most likely find us curled up in front of the sunroom’s fireplace with a book in hand and coffee nearby. Viewing out onto Monterey Bay, this two-bedroom estate is a charming split level property nestled deep within the private Jacks Peak woods. Recently remodeled, the house includes all new hardwood floors, updated bathrooms and a wrap-around deck on each level. Since it is equidistance from downtown Monterey and Carmel, guests have the best of both worlds at their disposal. Included in the reservation are two Monterey Aquarium passes as well, should you find some time in between the PBFW tastings. Rates begin at $667 a night with a two-night minimum stay.

FOUR

Built over a 15 year period, this residence is the brainchild of an avid traveler and antiques dealer. The 8,500-square-foot, five-bedroom estate was once featured on the Discovery Channel’s Ultimate Homes – Great Escapes, in part due to its palatial-like features. Situated on a hilltop overlooking Carmel and Pebble Beach, the residence is chock-full of antiques from all over the world and beautiful statues. In the east wing the master suite occupies two floors and has its own fireplace, living area, two balconies and a winding staircase that leads to the upstairs bedroom and bath area. Outside the home features a spa with a wood-fired sauna, al fresco shower, hot tub and guests can schedule an herbal bath, which will be prepared by the staff. Next to the wellness facility is the spa retreat studio reached through a private entrance. The outdoor kitchen comes with a wood-fired pizza oven, barbeque and an adobe oven for roasting. Residing on the estate are two small houses with readily available caretakers should you ever need anything. Rates begin at $1,375 a night with a two-night minimum.

FIVE

Different from the last house, this residence boasts a more modern feel and a home-away-from-home vibe. The three-bedroom, split-level estate is minutes away from Carmel and sleeps 10. Inside, the residence has a generous living room and a kitchen with wine refrigerator stocked with local wines. Two bedrooms sit upstairs and all come with premium linens. A great feature about this residence is its outdoor firepit and lounge area which can be used for roasting marshmallows or staying warm in the cool evenings. In the entertainment room guests will find a 50" flat screen television, Xbox and karaoke machine. Rates begin at $600 a night with a three-night minimum stay.
