Washington Things To Do: Arlington Cemetery is the final resting place for hundreds of thousands of American troops who died fighting for our country, and hundreds of people converge upon the symmetric rows of marble headstones every day to pay their respects and absorb the history.

The land was once owned by the Confederate General Robert E. Lee, as well as a number of influential early Americans. Today, an amphitheatre and several memorials dot the property, including the Tomb of the Unknowns.
