Office Depot To Start Hawking Kindles From Amazon

Office Depot said today it will begin selling Amazon.com's Kindle e-reader devices on September 25. The company will also offer a full range of Kindle accessories upon the retail launch, including cases and chargers.

Kindle users have access to more than 950,000 books via Amazon's digital store, as well as magazines, newspapers and other media. Customers can also read the materials they purchase with free Kindle reading apps on Google (nasdaq: GOOG - news - people ) Android devices, Apple (nasdaq: AAPL - news - people )'s iPad, iPhone, and Mac computers, as well as PCs, phones based on Microsoft (nasdaq: MSFT - news - people ) Windows Phone, and Research in Motion (nasdaq: RIMM - news - people )'s BlackBerry.

The Kindle competes with e-reader devices from Barnes & Noble (nyse: BKS - news - people ) and Sony (nyse: SNE - news - people ) , among others.
