As a millennial entrepreneur and founder of Bitlux, a private jet charter company, I have witnessed a fascinating shift in the way my generation views and values luxury travel. The days of rigid schedules and long security lines at commercial airports seem like relics of the past, but a necessity and static option for most.

Those that can afford it, are embracing the freedom and flexibility offered by private jet charters. In this era of instant gratification, the concept of “no strings attached” has become a mantra, and private jet charter is at the forefront of this cultural shift.

The new generation of consumers who, seemingly, have a desire for unique experiences and personalized services, is turning to private jet charters to break free from the constraints of conventional travel – again, if they’re positioned to do so. Along with increased demand from younger generations, naturally, we’ve seen a rise in empty-leg hunters, where people are after “cheap” in a rather expensive space. Needless to say, this rarely works out, nor is our business model set to facilitate requests like others in the space, who do handle “cheap.”

No longer bound by fixed schedules and crowded terminals, millennials crave the ability to jet off on their terms, choosing when and where they want to travel without compromise. Only a lucky few can actually do it – and I’d love to see more.

In fact, for Bitlux, 1 in 3 flights have been booked using crypto since our inception with over 750 total live flights, and over 1,500 total flights, dating back to early 2019, with a total revenue of nearly $30m (or currently, ₿ 635). Being around for so long, that number seems low in a bitcoin sense, but just goes to show how far it can take an entire generation. That is pretty big if you ask me…

Something else that I think is pretty cool is the connectivity of the world. While it has its downsides, like being used for the wrong reasons by far too powerful forces; on a personal level it does blur the lines between business and leisure a bit.
