One of the highlights of living in San Diego is it its close proximity to Temecula. The valley is filled with hundreds of award-winning wineries, beautiful resorts, boutique hotels, and lots of outdoor activities available to visitors. Since the destination is only a 45-minute drive away from San Diego proper, you’ll regularly find locals heading north-east to enjoy a day of wine tasting.
However, that in itself can come with a few complications if you’re not planning on staying the night in town or leaving someone out of the fun by designating them as DD. One of the best ways to remain responsible while savoring Temecula’s best wines is to hire a car service for the afternoon. We recently checked out Aall In Limo & Party Bus’ service for a five-hour excursion up to wine country.
Celebrating a birthday, we rented the new 12-person Mercedes-Benz party bus which comes with a bottle of Champagne to get the party started on the drive up. There are also glasses, bottled water and ice in case you’d like to chill a few extra bottles for the trip back. When the bus arrived at our pickup spot, our driver warmly introduced himself and explained a few features of the bus before getting us settled in.
After hooking up an iPhone to the stereo system, we popped open our Champagne and were off. The bus’ interior is outfitted with leather booths, florescent lighting, a plasma TV, tinted windows with curtains, a privacy window, chauffeur intercom and a premier sound system. While it seats up to 12 passengers, if you’d like a little extra wiggle room, consider booking it for 10 guests or upgrading to the fleet’s 20-person bus.
The afternoon included stops at three wineries which work in partnership with Aall In Limo & Party Bus. At each, our driver got us checked-in and introduced us to our pourers for the day. This kind of personal attention to detail continued throughout the trip and made us feel well taken care of and relaxed. As it was a (rare) cold day in San Diego, our chauffeur even text us to let us know that when we were finished, he’d swing around and pick us up right at the winery’s entrance.
When it comes to renting a private car, there’s a certain level of service expected, and we were happy to find that Aall in Limo & Party Bus met and exceeded those expectations. Overall, the experience was experience memorable and fuss-free. Also, if you prefer a brewery tour, they are happy to arrange that as well. The company's fleet includes town cars, limos and the larger party buses.
