Palais Garnier

The Palais Garnier was constructed to be the home of the famous Paris Opera in 1875 and was designed by French architect Charles Garnier. In 2000, the main façade was renovated to reveal the original colorways and golden statue work.

The Palais Garnier, and events that transpired within, were the inspiration for The Phantom of the Opera. Famous interior features are the Grand Staircase, Library-Museum, and several richly decorated foyers. The Paris Opera still performs here.
