The elegant Fountainebleau Miami Beach resort will be playing host to this year’s Wine Spectator’s Best of the Best wine dinner, on February 22. The event takes place as part of the 2013 South Beach Food & Wine Festival that has been drawing a host of celebrity chefs, television personalities, and incredible culinary talent from all over the world. The Wine Spectator’s Best of the Best is one of the festival’s most exciting events as it offers an eclectic mix of both best new chefs and veterans pairing their dishes with some of the most highly rated wines for an evening that is delicious as it is educational.

In a glamorous, yet relaxed setting, guests can float from station to station, enjoying food and conversation with both the chefs and sommeliers about individual process and creation. A few dishes from the evenings menu will include Black Truffle Cheese Crostini topped with braised osso bucco and micro mint lavender by Chef Angelo Elia from Casa D’Angelo; Five Spice Pork Belly Gyoza filled with chestnut-miso butter, crispy herbs, and pomegranate vinegar from Haven’s Chef Todd Erickson; Octopus Ceviche with Togarashi popcorn prepared by Chef Cormac Mahoney of Madison Park Conservatory; Chili Lobster served with Israeli cous cous and winter squash by Marc Forgione and Heirloom Apple Ice Cream on a bacon cone by Beast’s Chef Naomi Pomeroy.

Over fifty celebrated chefs from across the U.S. will be in attendance, including celebrity chefs Michael Mina, Nobu Matsushisa, and E. Michael Reidt, to name a few. Nearly a hundred wineries will be providing their top varietals, however, it is exclusively the proprietors and wine-makers from each that will be on hand to pour and answer questions. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous interior of the Fountainebleau Miami while also experiencing the most current gastronomic trends. Tickets cost $350 a person.
