From Event to Ecosystem: How Miami Became the Center of Wellness with the First Wellist Week
In April, Miami didn’t simply host a wellness event—it offered a glimpse of what happens when a city begins to build wellbeing into its very fabric.
Anchored by Wellist Week (April 13–19), a new global forum for the business of wellness, the city transformed into a living ecosystem where policy, culture, capital, and community converged. What emerged was a clear signal: wellness is no longer a personal pursuit, it’s an integrated system shaping how we live, build, and invest.

Designed as a citywide platform, the inaugural week convened hundreds of global curators, founders, and operators across dozens of events and venues, culminating in a two-day Forum in the Miami Design District. By the numbers the inaugural Wellist Week convened 680 registrants, 70 global curators, and 92 speakers across size industry verticals, with 53 satellite events and 64 partners and sponsors activating across Miami. From the outset, the tone was set at Carillon Miami Wellness Resort, where civic leaders including the Mayors of both Miami and Miami Beach and industry voices framed Miami’s accelerating role at the intersection of public leadership and private innovation.

From there, the city became the stage. Programming flowed from sunrise rituals to late-night cultural gatherings, dissolving the boundaries between fitness, hospitality, and community. A spirited opening night party was held in the Miami emerging neighborhood of Wynwood at Lunasol presented by Optimism. At Soho Pool House, conversations led by extreme sports maven, Alvaro Nunez, challenged the very definition of wellness, reframing it not as practice, but as a standard of living. Across Brickell, Equinox hosted high-performance training experiences that underscored the fusion of fitness, data, and lifestyle.

The Forum itself served as the intellectual and commercial center of the week. Thought leaders explored themes spanning cognitive longevity, human performance, media, and cultural influence—grounding the conversation in both credibility and cultural relevance.
A standout moment came with the “Dolphin Pod,” a reimagined startup showcase that replaced pitch theatrics with substantive dialogue. Founders presented to a curated group of investors and operators led by Head Dolphin, Jody Levy in a format focused on problem-solving and long-term vision. Alba Health emerged as the selected company, signaling the next wave of innovation in health and longevity.

Throughout the week, Miami’s civic leadership remained central to the conversation, reinforcing wellness as an emerging priority in urban development. A dedicated series at The Moore further highlighted the convergence of evidence-based health, hospitality, and community—an increasingly defining characteristic of the modern wellness economy.

The week concluded with an industry milestone: Susie Ellis, Chair of the Global Wellness Institute, was honored as the inaugural Wellist Industry Innovator, bridging the movement’s early foundations with its future trajectory.

What unfolded in Miami was more than a gathering—it was proof of concept. As global attention shifts toward longevity, prevention, and quality of life, the city is positioning itself as a new kind of hub: one where wellness is not just experienced but actively built.
Miami has long been defined by its cultural moments. With Wellist Week, wellness now claims its place among them.
“The ambition with the Forum was to reflect the true breadth and depth of this space, not just where wellness is today, but where it is going.” Alhia Chacoff-Berger, Co-Founder & Head of Wellist Programming.”
Stay tuned for Wellist Week 2027 when Co-Founders, Alhia Chacoff-Berger and Myk Likhov bring an even more elevated version of wellness to the global Miami community.
