The iconic Champagne house Piper-Heidsieck, famously beloved by Marilyn Monroe, recently unveiled its Marilyn Monroe Cuvée to honor this timeless icon. Founded in 1785 by Florens-Louis Heidsieck with a mission to “seriously create wines that smile,” Piper-Heidsieck is the official champagne partner of Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday celebrations.
The centennial year will be marked by a series of global tributes to Monroe’s legacy. This limited-edition bubbly honors the historic bond between the most recognized and awarded Champagne House and the Hollywood legend’s longtime relationship with the bubbly brand. She famously wrote “To Piper, my favorite” that became a treasured note honoring the Champagne brand throughout her career.
Monroe’s relationship with Piper-Heidsieck dates back to the 1950s, when the House created custom silver-plated ice buckets engraved with her name and New York address. “Marilyn Monroe’s free-spirited, celebratory essence perfectly aligns with Piper-Heidsieck’s mission: to light up life’s celebrations with joy. A timeless muse, she embodies the House’s core values, glamour, audacity, and excellence, and remains an enduring symbol of celebration and success”, said Stéphane Decaux, CEO of Piper-Heidsieck Champagne. “With this limited-edition release, we honor her extraordinary legacy, her luminous personality, and the priceless connection she shares with our House.”

Marilyn Monroe: A Timeless Muse for Piper-Heidsieck
Marilyn Monroe remains one of the most enduring and influential figures in popular culture. She was a Hollywood sensation as she charted her own course at a time when opportunities for women were limited. She embraced her individuality and pursued her ambitions on her own terms.
Over the course of her career, Monroe starred in 29 films and earned a Golden Globe Award for her iconic performance in Some Like It Hot. Beyond her success on screen, she challenged industry norms and helped redefine what women could achieve in film. Determined to gain greater creative and professional control, she founded Marilyn Monroe Productions, an unprecedented move that allowed her to take ownership of her image and advocate for a stronger voice within the Hollywood system.
A Collector’s Edition: Design and Artistry
Piper-Heidsieck collaborated with artist Russell Young on a series of 12 charity bottles first unveiled at Art Miami in December 2025. The striking and artistic label on the 750ml bottle features a red portrait of Marilyn Monroe. It was created in partnership with her estate, reflecting her enduring influence and connection to Piper-Heidsieck. The bottle featured Young’s signature diamond dust technique transforming each bottle into coveted works of art.
Since 2018, Piper-Heidsieck has been guided by one of the youngest Chief Winemakers, Émilien Boutillat, entrusted with preserving the House’s unique philosophy while steering it into a bold, sustainable future. Champagne drinkers from over 80 countries worldwide pop open a bottle every six seconds.
This bottle is made with a blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier, 20% Chardonnay grapes.

More than six decades after her passing, Monroe’s legacy continues to resonate across generations and around the world. Piper-Heidsieck celebrations include a series of global centennial activations tied to the opening of the Marilyn Monroe Exhibition at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, (on view May 31, 2026 through February 28, 2027), as well as a public celebration at Film at Lincoln Center on July 28, 2026.
