As part of Harvard University and established in 1872, the Arnold Arboretum is the oldest public arboretum in North America. A vast collection of trees, vines, shrubs, and flowers extend over 265 acres of land and contain over 1.3 million plant specimens. Research from Harvard University professors, students, and visiting scientists, along with collaboration from the City of Boston make the Arnold Arboretum a unique place of learning as well as historically important.
