Catalina Island is one of Southern California’s most popular and adventurous destinations. The island is known for an array of outdoor activities as well as its vibrant history as a glamorous retreat for Hollywood celebrities. It is home to only one incorporated town, Avalon, which is located in a serene cove and has a casino.

Getting to the island requires a ferry ride from one of the city’s ports, or using one of the various companies that offer helicopter rides. Popular attractions on the island are golf, ziplining, sailing, and scuba-diving.
