Approximately 30 minutes from the Strip, the Hoover Dam stands as a towering testament to American engineering. The Visitor Center offers guided tours of the powerplant as well as tours of the dam and center. The Arizona/Nevada state line crosses the center of the dam, and it’s a great photo opp (be in two places at once!).

Built during the depression, the dam tames the mighty Colorado River and prevents floods, provides irrigation water, and produces hydro-electric power. There are two lanes of traffic that cross the top of the dam, as well as the Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge that provides an aerial view of the bridge and Lake Mead
