The Basilica of the Sacred Heart is a monument to both Roman Catholicism and the many social revolutions that Paris has seen during its history. The locally-quarried travertine stone behemoth sits majestically on Butte Montmartre, the highest point in the city of Paris.

The facility holds visiting days throughout the year, allowing travelers to gaze in wonder at one of the world’s largest mosaics, a meditation garden, and a panoramic view of the city from the top of the dome. Leave your cameras at home though, as they are not allowed inside the basilica.
