New shopping malls don't always make for interesting news, but the King of Prussia Mall in Philadelphia is already starting to gain some buzz as it goes through an estimated $150 million expansion in the next year and a half. The project will ultimately connect two disjointed courts and increase the current shopping space of 2.65-million-square-feet to 2.8 million. According to Visit Philadelphia, the renovation should make it the biggest mall on the east coast and the second largest in the United States at the time of its completion sometime in the fall of 2016—unless something bigger comes along before then.

The mall's two courts have been separated by a parking lot ever since it opened in 1963, which will now turn into an enclosed connecting area with floor-to-ceiling windows, lounge areas with gadget charging stations, dining opportunities, and a guest service center. The cool video above, offered by the Simon Property Group, takes you through a digitally-created layout of what the building will look like once it's complete. With geometric tile work and interesting art installations, the King of Prussia Mall definitely looks like the kind of place we would like to burn some cash at, especially considering that by the time it's done, it will have more than 450 shops to browse, including Saint Laurent and Lord & Taylor.
