It’s that time of the year again, when everyone strips down and struts around town in little to no clothes. If you haven’t been feeling all that self-conscious during the winter and even the beginning of spring, now is the perfect time to start panicking about those love handles, stretch marks and other little imperfections that you don’t want the world to see. Although I truly believe that it is what’s on the inside that counts and that different body-types can all be beautiful in their own way, it is still nice to be able to attract a few pairs of eyes when you strip down to your bathing suit or bikini at the beach using nothing but your raw sexuality. With that in mind, let’s unravel the mystery of what it takes to achieve the sexy beach look in time for summer.

Focus on losing fat, not weight

Most people get it wrong when it comes to tightening up your body and burning some calories. They overdo it with incredibly restrictive and unhealthy diets, lose a whole bunch of water weight and muscle mass along with some fat, and then blow back up again once the diet ends. The trick is to do a body recomposition – keep your calories at maintenance level while working on strength and endurance. Even if your weight doesn’t change much during the next couple of months, you will notice a reduction in body fat percentage. You will actually gain some muscle, which makes your skin look smoother and tighter and makes it easier for the body to burn even more calories.

Make several small, but consistent changes

Don’t drop into a 1000-1500 calorie deficit or burn yourself out at the gym for a couple of weeks before quitting due to the physical pain and mental strain. Make a few simple decisions like eating mostly healthy food, eating some junk food only every third day, walking for at least an hour every day, doing at least an hour of total cardio weekly, lifting some weight at least twice a week, etc. Whatever you decide on, stick with it no matter what. Improve your posture and get comfortable with your body

Imagine a super-model or famous actress clumsily walking down the red carpet slightly hunched over, looking at the floor and fidgeting. Doesn’t look all that sexy and glamorous, right? By just keeping your back straight, looking straight ahead with head held high and a confident look on your face, while graciously and purposefully putting one foot in front of the other as you go down the street, you can make yourself look twice as sexy. Practice moving with grace and confidence, and learn to love your body.

Take good care of your hair and skin

There’s no use trying to get a sexy body if your skin and hair are in bad shape. You need the whole package. With a healthy diet and plenty of water you’ll have the essential nutrients needed for healthy skin and hair, so all that is left is effective maintenance. Take quick showers at least twice a day during the hot summer, and be sure to exfoliate and moisturize. There are a number of cosmetic treatments that you can do at home to deal with certain skin problems. Facial massagers and cleansing devices that use blue and infra-red light will help deal with wrinkles, blackheads and irritation, while a micro needle roller can reduce stretch marks and make the skin smoother and softer to the touch.

Finding the right hair conditioner for your type of hair is very important, and you shouldn’t wash the hair more than 2-3 times a week to preserve its natural oils. Try to avoid spending a lot of time in direct sunlight as it will cause the skin to age more rapidly and damage your hair.    

Following these few simple guidelines will help you achieve a level of confidence that will allow you to project a look of effortless class and sex-appeal no matter what you are wearing or how many people are looking at you.
