Balmain Hair Launch: Shampoo, Conditioner, Hair Styling Mist

The House of Balmain with its unique history and refreshing revival; not to mention the Rhianna campaigns have put the storied house back on the fashion and beauty map. With last year’s launch of professional hair style products (we reviewed them here) that included hair extensions, treatment products and salon technologies for stylists,I was eagerly awaiting the new consumer product linethat has just launched this past week. Now, you can take home the shampoo, conditioner and styling mist that the Balmain hair team uses to create their extraordinary looks at the shows. (Full disclosure) I tried the products over the weekend and since I have very long and fine hair that is naturally curly, I am a particular challenge. I want to know the following: will the shampoo lather in a rich creamy formula and then rinse out clean? Will the conditioner feel smooth and rich and leave my hair clean but not gooey? I don’ t like residues that a lot of conditioners use to make your hair feel smooth but it’s just a lie: your rinsing silicons and binders through your hair which doesn’t improve it over time! Also, the scents of typical designer label shampoos are overwhelming. The scent you experience is really not there; it’s so subtle and clean. The final step before styling is a simple spray mist that prepares your damp hair for a blow out or natural drying, if you prefer. I tried the blow out and while I am not a trained stylist, I am pretty handy with a blow dryer after years of watching the best! My hair looked great and the smoothing out if my curls worked beautifully! I had a smooth salon style look and my hair felt amazing after just one shampoo. I should add also that you can spray the mist over your hair to re-style it “dry” to freshen up mid-week. Just mist if over your styling brush and smooth out with a quick blast of warm air.
