Coastal Luxury at W Singapore Sentosa Cove

Last weekend we decided to retreat to the lush greenery and luxurious coastal setting of Sentosa Island with a stay at W Singapore – Sentosa Cove - an oasis for discerning business travellers, vivacious staycationers and sophisticated globetrotters. Here is why you should do it too!

The Marvelous Suite

We were staying at the Marvelous Suite featuring stunning views of the South China Sea, Quayside Isle yacht marina and WET® pool. As we opened the heavy wooden doors of suite 562, we entered a spacious living room, dazzling in rich purple hues and natural wood, featuring gently curved recessed lighting to cast a warm glow, a three-seater leather sofa, original designer foam chair and black lounger. Floral rugs and feather-decorated lamps lightened the mood and made it a perfect setting to kickback with a glass of champagne.

The master bedroom was spacious and filled with natural light, through soaring floor-to-ceiling windows that open up to the terrace featuring a spacious day bed to relax enjoying the beautiful views of the yacht marina. The bedroom also had a suspended egg-shaped chair and a king-sized signature W bed with floral motif leather headboard. This bed was just heavenly- soft, 350-thread-count linens guaranteed the best sleep we had in any hotel beds before! Waking up in this comfortable bed to the views of the marina was an incredible experience.

And so was having a bubbly bath in a freestanding Jacuzzi bathtub with the views of theWET® pool. I loved the oversized fragrant Bliss Spa amenities. There was also a very spacious rainforest shower, an organically- shaped sink set within a soothing stone counter with the sprawling mirrors providing extra luxurious feel.

Breakfast Feast at The Kitchen Table

We enjoyed our breakfast at The Kitchen Table located on the 2ndfloor. I was delighted to hear that the breakfast was open until 11am allowing me to enjoy few more hours amongst the silky sheets. We’ve decided to sit outside facing hotel pool to enjoy a bit of sunshine and fresh air. The buffet spread was really impressive featuring both Western and Asian delights. It featured fresh salads, wide range of cold- cuts and cheeses as well as freshly baked breads and pastries. For the lighter options, you could indulge in various yogurt pots, muesli and fresh tropical fruits available. The ones who have sweet tooth are not forgotten at The Kitchen Table either- crispy waffles and pancakes were nicely stacked up next to various condiments- chocolate, peanut butter, various jams and vanilla sauce. For the hearty option you can choose traditional breakfast items such as eggs your way, baked beans, bacon and sausages or opt for Asian twist and grab chicken curry or dim-sum.

Endless Summer at the coolest pool party

W Singapore is also famous for its Endless Summer pool parties held at the WET® pool deck every first Sunday of the month and we were just so lucky to be part of one. The party starts at 2pm at lasts till the dawn. Although it was Sunday and many had to call it a night quite early to get ready for the week of work, the vibes were incredible the whole afternoon. We lounged by the pool enjoying the sun, cooling signature cocktails and delectable nibbles listening to eclectic beats from international DJs. Not to mention the best part- dipping into a refreshing turquoise pool, which also offered a bunch of water activities available. What I loved most about this party is that you could see such great variety of people enjoying it- from friends celebrating a sunny Sunday over drinks, to couples enjoying the romantic escape and families with kids playing at the amazing pool facilities suitable for all. Can’t wait to be back for the next edition!

Hotel that never sleeps

There are plenty of things to do at W Singapore- Sentosa Cove. This is probably the only hotel with a swimming pool open 24/7 if you fancy a late refreshing dip or you can spend couple of hours indulging in their beautiful AWAY Spa showcasing award-winning signature therapies and treatments using ILA-Spa’s organic and natural products. In the afternoons, you catch up with friends over Drop The T² high tea spread served in a standing bird- cage that fits right in to the lobby’s urban jungle aesthetic. In the evenings, mingle at the WooBar creative cocktail mixes, chilled vibes while enjoying cosy spots from al fresco pod chairs and hanging egg chairs to plush sofas and poofs, illuminated by patterned shadows.

We loved our stay at W Singapore- Sentosa Cove. Beautiful views of yacht marina and South China Sea made us feel like on a tropical retreat, away from the urban jungle of Singapore. The warm and welcoming service made us feel at home and the room and facilities were superb. Would highly recommend this hotel for short getaways, romantic retreats or family vacations!
